Beast Machines (1999) continues the legendary Transformers saga, following the events of Beast Wars. Produced by Mainframe Entertainment and distributed by Hasbro Studios, this CGI-animated series brought a darker, more philosophical edge to the franchise. The story picks up with Optimus Primal and his Maximals returning to Cybertron—only to discover it taken over by Megatron’s new Vehicon army.
Episode 1, “The Reformatting,” sets the tone for the entire series. The Maximals awaken on Cybertron, transformed into new techno-organic bodies, and must rediscover their identities while resisting Megatron’s mechanized control. With deep themes of evolution, technology versus nature, and identity, Beast Machines offers a gripping narrative that appealed to older fans and new viewers alike.
Originally airing in 1999–2000 with 26 episodes, Beast Machines remains one of the boldest interpretations of the Transformers universe. Watch this premiere in Full HD exclusively on CartoonLTV:
